CHATTANOOGA COMMUNITY KITCHEN

Project Leader: Amanda Shackleford

The mission of the Chattanooga Community Kitchen is to meet the most basic needs of hungry, homeless and vulnerable people in our community while offering a clear path to self-sufficiency. They need help with organizing their pantry of donations for the first hour, make and pack sack lunches that will go out on Sunday to homeless camps.

Dress in layers if cold outside since the door opens often, wear closed toed shoes, wear a mask, and temperatures will be checked.

CHATTANOOGA ZOO

The Chattanooga Zoo is a non-profit organization and relies on community support to flourish and grow. They are in need of volunteers to help stuff Easter eggs for their Spring activity, Hug A Bunny event. Volunteers will likely NOT be working with animals.

ERLANGER SUPER HERO CAPES

Being in the hospital as a child can be scary and full of unfamiliar things. Volunteers will be making superhero capes for children ages 3-7 that are patients.

THE SALVATION ARMY

Project Leader: Janet Mendenhall

The Salvation Army has been supporting those in need in His name without discrimination since 1865. We will be doing Gardening/Landscaping Support at the Day Center for Homeless. Volunteers will help prep community garden beds, prepare soil, spread mulch, and tidy up exterior spaces.

*If you sign up for this service project, please bring/wear: closed-toed shoes, clothes that can get messy & don't forget a face mask!

MCKAMEY ANIMAL CENTER

Project Leader: Marliese Montgomery

McKamey Animal Center creates a culture of compassionate care, community engagement and advocacy for animals by providing programs and education that support people and companion animals. They need a small group to take some dogs on a field trip downtown. The dogs will be wearing “Adopt Me!” vests.
