BillionGraves

Project Leader: Kelli McPheters, Ringgold Branch


The mission of BillionGraves is to preserve precious records found in cemeteries throughout the world. Volunteers will travel from the Stake Center to designated cemeteries close by to take pictures of headstones.  30 volunteers needed.

Chattanooga Community Kitchen

The mission of the Chattanooga Community Kitchen is to meet the most basic needs of hungry, homeless and vulnerable people in our community while offering a clear path to self-sufficiency.  They need help with miscellaneous tasks and serving lunch. 20 volunteers needed.

Chattanooga Room in the Inn

The Chattanooga Room In the Inn helps women and children overcome homelessness. Volunteers will be helping paint a couple of bedrooms and bathrooms, getting a house ready for a new move in.  12 volunteers needed.

Chattanooga Zoo

The Chattanooga Zoo is a non-profit organization and relies on community support to flourish and grow.  They are in need of volunteers to help stuff Easter eggs for their Spring activity, Hug A Bunny event.  Volunteers will likely NOT be working with animals.  25 volunteers needed.

Erlanger Hospital Fleece Blankets

Project Leader: Nicole Sealor, Ooltewah Ward


Being in the hospital as a child can be scary and full of unfamiliar things. Volunteers will be cutting and tying fleece blankets to be donated to provide comfort to children staying in the hospital.  10 volunteers needed.

Erlanger Hospital Little Angels Gowns

Project Leader: Sherlly Tosh, Ooltewah Ward


The NICU Helping Hands’ Angel Gown® provides comfort for bereaved families through the gift of a beautiful custom made gown for final photos and for burial services.  The baby gowns are made with love from donated wedding dresses.  We will be making gowns to give to our local NICU.  20 volunteers needed (8 with own sewing machines or sergers/12 volunteers without).

Erlanger Hospital PICC Line Covers

Project Leader: Heather Heiss, Hixson Ward


A PICC line is used for long-term intravenous antibiotics, nutrition or medications, and for blood draws. It's important to keep a PICC line covered and protected from infection and pulling.  We will be making  PICC line arm covers for children undergoing medical treatments.   20 volunteers needed (10 with own sewing machines or sergers/ 10 volunteers without).

Erlanger Hospital Trach Line Covers

Project Leader: Brenda Beasley, Dalton Ward 


A tracheostomy (track-ee-os-tohmee) is a small, surgical opening through the skin into the windpipe (trachea). This is necessary to relieve severe breathing difficulties due to an obstruction (blockage) or narrowing in the upper airway.  Volunteers will be putting together and sewing covers that go around the airway tube/opening for infants and children.  20 volunteers needed (10 with own sewing machines or sergers/ 10 volunteers without).

McKamey Animal Center

Project Leader: Lisa Kimsey, Chattanooga Branch


McKamey Animal Center creates a culture of compassionate care, community engagement and advocacy for animals by providing programs and education that support people and companion animals. They need help cleaning, landscaping, socializing animals and/or making treats and toys.  12 volunteers needed.

The Salvation Army

Project Leader: Kathi Christensen, Cleveland Ward


The Salvation Army has been supporting those in need in His name without discrimination since 1865.  Christmas is a year round operation at The Salvation Army. Volunteers are needed to put away Angel Tree materials from the 2019 season and prep other Christmas items for 2020.  Tasks may include painting red kettle stands, labeling 5000 angel tree bags, and organizing holiday donations. Anticipated service time is 10 AM- 2 PM. Lunch will be provided for all those participating (soup, salad, and bread).  20 volunteers needed.


*If you sign up for this service project, please wear closed toe shoes and make sure to wear layers as it can get a little chilly in the warehouse.
